Resolution takes data from mapper sources and integrates them into a
consolidated lookup. The ability to query the resolution system is actually
implemented as part of the Cache functionality. When a mimatch occurs in a
request between the given symbolset and those supported by the source, the
cache queries Resolution to attempt a mapping between the symbolsets and then
passes the result to the source. The result has the effect of an automatic
lookup facility allowing the client to select a convenient symbology. This component was first available in the 2.2.0.157 release. Additional information can be found in What is
